Plassey Credit Union
pays a variable dividend on its members savings. The rate of dividend is decided annually at the AGM on the recommendation of the Board of Directors who are elected by the membership.


Our dividend rates have significantly out-performed savings returns for on-demand money in other financial institutions over the past years.



# Saving balances over and above any loan you may have are available to you to withdraw on demand.
# High dividends for savings available on demand, you will not get a higher return at the same level of risk.
# Free life cover on saving up to €13,000 (subject to terms and condition)
# A savings protection scheme is in place to the benefit of the member up to €12,700
# There are no transaction charges or fees.




Regular Share Accounts


# Minimum balance to keep account open €6.35
# Lodgements can be made over the counter, through your bank by standing order, or by payroll deduction if operated by your employer.

Withdrawals can be made on demand if savings are not held as collateral against a loan. Withdrawals can be in the form of cash or cheque.
#
Members are obligated to complete their own tax returns to the Revenue Commissioners, as dividends are paid gross to the account. DIRT (if applicable) is charged at marginal tax rate.
# Yearly statements are sent out and are also available on request
# No fees or charges are levied

Plassey Credit Union will deduct DIRT at 20% and return it to the Revenue Commissioners on the members behalf. Members receive dividend net of DIRT and have no further tax liability for this account

Junior Saving Scheme

Sammy Stamps

Sammy Stamp is a saving scheme operated in Milford National School, every Wednesday Plassey Credit Union go to the school and sell "Sammy Stamps" to the children. Each stamp is valued at 25cents and a special book is supplied.

The children are encouraged to save a little each week towards some particular goal e.g. holidays, computer game, bike etc.

When they have completed their books they can bring them into Plassey Credit Union Office and either receive cash to the value of the stamps or lodge the savings to their accounts.
